  • Executive Director

    Manasvini (she/her) is a recent graduate of UCLA in Psychobiology. With experience in standardized healthcare research and leadership in several organizations, she has created specialized resources and educated underserved communities about prevalent diseases. Manasvini is passionate about increasing accessibility of health resources and destigmatizing mental health in marginalized communities.

    Ava (she/her) is a recent graduate from Cornell University where she studied Computer Science. Previously, she was actively involved the Cornell Chinese Students Association as its president and the non-profit student-run grocery store Anabel's Grocery, which aimed to reduce food insecurity on campus. She is currently working as a Software Engineer at Bank of America.

    Marjerrie Masicat (she/her) is a multi-hyphenate creative interested in education, publishing, and mental wellness. Most recently, she was the Brand and Visual Design Manager at YR Media, leading the creative development of youth-centric projects. Prior, Marjerrie worked with Chapter 510, Northeastern University, and Inneract Project providing persons of color with a meaningful design education.

    Anna (she/her) is an international student from Shanghai studying Psychology and Statistics at UCLA. She is passionate about mental health and holds various journalism and research experiences advocating for disadvantaged children. She enjoys learning from people with diverse backgrounds. In her free time, Anna loves playing the guzheng, petting cats, and shopping.

    Emily (She/Her) is a recent graduate from Rutgers University where she studied Information Technology and Informatics. She is passionate about promoting mental well-being. She has previously worked with Develop for Good as a UX Designer.

    Arianna is a third-year student at Sacramento State University studying Sociology and Ethnic Studies. They research the effects of colorism on the Pilipinx community in the Bay Area with the BIPOC Minoritized Peoples Mental Health Lab. She seeks to increase education access and one day pursue a PhD in Ethnic Studies.

    I am a recent graduate from UC Riverside with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy, focusing on Health and Population, as well as International and Foreign Policy. Previously, I interned at a community-engaged research center where I contributed to initiatives aimed at addressing local health disparities. My goal is to work towards addressing the disparities that exist in maternal and children's health outcomes among marginalized communities.

    Ivy holds a Master’s degree in Public Health and a Bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science. She currently works at HiFiBiO Therapeutics, leading the biotech’s communications and working on external strategies. Outside of work, Ivy enjoys reading books and going to symphony concerts.

    Laurel (she/her) studies Neuroscience at Harvard College. She currently works at a local free clinic. Outside of school, she enjoys doing scrapbook and running.

    Sujanaa (she/her) is a first-year undergraduate at UCLA studying Biochemistry. She currently interns at ReelDx, working to improve medical e-learning and education. Sujanaa is an avid dancer, and she enjoys reading and playing around with henna in her free time.

    Andrew is an aspiring psychiatrist at Harvard Medical School. Born in Taiwan and raised in China, Andrew is a proud first-generation who dares to dream in America. Previously, he worked as the chief executive of an educational 501(c)3, a teacher in the slums of Peru, a case manager with the LGBTQ+ advocacy group in Taiwan, and a health advocate with Partners in Health in Mexico. His interest is in resilience and healing from racial and intergenerational trauma; his work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals. He loves working with young people and reimagining ways we can better hold them.

    Fatinah (she/her) is a recent graduate from Princeton where she studied Chemical & Biological Engineering, further specializing in bioengineering & biotechnology development alongside global health & health policy. This background has provided her with unique insights on the interconnected nature of health equity and innovation, emphasizing the need for their integration in dialogues aimed towards meeting the needs of marginalized communities. Prioritizing community advocacy, Fatinah has served her peers in leadership roles as Class Vice-President and Co-Director of Princeton Peer Nightline. In preparation for a career spanning bioengineering and medicine, Fatinah is currently working at the Broad Institute of MIT & Harvard to design viral diagnostics and surveillance technologies for minimizing infectious disease burden in resource-constrained areas.

    Andy Tan (he/him) is a graduate of Cornell University where he studied Economics. This past summer, Andy started as a Consultant in New York City and has previous experience in finance and non-profits. In his free time, you can find Andy exploring the city, travelling, or trying new food.

    Melanie is studying psychology at Dartmouth. Born in Guatemala but raised in Nevada, Melanie's journey is driven by empathy for the unique stressors of immigrant students. With experience as a data science intern at a mental health startup, co-founding a Latin-American fusion breakfast restaurant with her family, and doing non-profit consulting with Dartmouth's Center for Social Impact, Melanie is committed to ensuring Nunchi makes an impact and serves marginalized communities.

    Katie is a recent graduate of Kenyon College where she studied history. She currently works in telehealth and at a children's museum. In her spare time she enjoys writing.

    Mika (she/her) studies Cognitive Science and Computer Science at the University of Pennsylvania. She has explored a diverse range of disciplines, from Biochemistry at the Summer Science Program to Finance as an incoming Insurance Solutions Analyst this summer. Beyond professional pursuits, she is passionate about improving accessibility to health resources and education and mentoring younger students.

    Sadoff is a policy professional specializing in global health and international relations. They grew up in five countries – the US, Switzerland, Nepal, Thailand, and Italy – and then studied history, health, and politics at Harvard (BA, 2021) and Columbia (MPH, 2023).

    Phil (he/they) graduated from UC Irvine, where he studied Human Biology and Psychology. As the child of two Filipino immigrants, he aspires to become a physician who educates immigrant and minority communities about the importance of mental health and preventive medicine. He is deeply passionate about de-stigmatizing mental health, fostering communities of growth, and pursuing various opportunities that are meaningful to him.

    Aldred Teodoro graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Merced. He is currently looking for opportunities to support fellow first-generation college students on their academic paths and aspires in the future to become an occupational therapist. Aldred also loves working out and hiking.

    Sharon is a student at UCLA studying psychobiology and is on the pre-dental track. She is the first author in two publications on mental health and was an RA at the UCLA Anxiety and Depression Research Center. Her passion for mental health drives her to help create a better future for those in need of support.

    Sriya studies Neurobiology, Physiology, and behavior at the University of California, Davis. For the past 3 years, she has been offering companionship to seniors at nursing homes dealing with Alzheimer's/dementia and is dedicated to diminishing the societal stigma around mental health. She aspires to further contribute to future mental health initiatives as a medical professional. In her free time, she likes to crochet, do puzzles, and learn new languages.

    Ariel (she/her) studies neuroscience at Harvard College. An avid journalist, she spent much of her college career listening to the stories of vulnerable individuals and spreading awareness about them through her school newspaper. After college, she hopes to pursue a medical career that involves improving the mental health of communities and global populations.

    Corban graduated from Harvard, where he studied Government with a secondary in Global Health and Health Policy. While at Harvard, he was a member of the men's swimming and diving team and participated in Harvard Kennedy School's Institute of Politics. Now at Ventricle Health, he works towards enabling better access to cardiologists for the senior population.

    Evangelina (she/her) was born in the U.S and raised in Mexico. She is a proud first-generation student at UCLA pursuing a double major in Biochemistry and Psychology with a minor in Entrepreneurship. Her work revolves around building community, supporting students and advocating for mental health. She aspires to one day become the first doctor in her family.

    Maya (she/her) is a graduate of Harvard, where she studied Health and Inequality in the United States. Previously, she spearheaded a global health nonprofit and worked at the Department of Health and Human Services and the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy. Currently, Maya works at the Broad Institute to develop low-cost diagnostics for implementation in West Africa.

    Manar (she/her) is a psychology graduate from UCLA and an aspiring psychiatrist. Previously, she was previously a camp counselor for underserved kids in the LA area, a college counselor for low income high schoolers, and the staff of a student-run shelter for unhoused college students. Manar is passionate about working with youth and serving this community.

    Lisa (she/her) is a proud first-gen graduate from UCLA where she earned her degrees in Human Biology & Society and Political Science with a minor in Asian American Studies. She grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and is the daughter of Vietnamese immigrant parents. Lisa has extensive experiences working for non-profits and startups in business development, data and fiscal analysis, and people operations. She is passionate about centering her work to uplift AANHPI communities, youth, and women of color. In her free time, Lisa can be found sporting her professional camera, hitting up a tennis court, or blogging her travel food adventures.

    Jess (she/her) is an aspiring psychiatrist at Harvard Medical School with a passion for advancing social justice. Previously, she worked as a case manager for people experiencing homelessness, the interpreting services lead at a free health clinic, and a project lead at Harvard Square Homeless Shelter. She is a National Health Service Corps Scholar, committed to a career in public service.

    Sara Surani (she/her) has cross-sector experience working at the intersections of gender equity, health, education, environment, and poverty alleviation. Sara graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Social Studies and Global Health and from Tsinghua University as a Schwarzman Scholar. She is the co-founder of the health education programs iConquer and Nayaraq.

    Soyoun is a student at Harvard studying Neuroscience with a secondary in Ethnicity, Migration, and Rights. Outside of class she spends her time leading group peer therapy, commuting to MGH for research, making lattes, and bouldering.

    Charles was born in California but lived in Shanghai for most his life. He is interested in pursuing History, Neuroscience, and creative writing.
